Inspirations of Style
The newest trend for this spring is color blocking with bold color combinations such as red & hot pink or yellow & bright green. While this new fashion statement may be too bold for some or not appropriate for a conservative workplace, adding color-block accessories is a great alternative. Color blocking can be casual or elegant which is usually determined by the color scheme and styles.
Weekend entire is a great place to introduce a key piece or two using the bold color combinations of pink, orange and blue thru an accessory like shoes, bags, or jewelry.
Another great way to stretch your money and versatility of your wardrobe is to color block different articles of clothing like a fuchsia skinny jeans with an orange blouse tucked in and nude wedges. You might not need to buy anything at all …just search the back of your closet!
If you want wearable work pieces I would stick to muted color blocking on a great tote or tailored dress keeping the rest as simple as possible.
If you want a great color block article to keep in your closet for seasons to come stick to a great heel that you can wear to work or to dinner …my favorite is the Vince Camuto two-toned open-toe heels…. That color combination is classic!
I really love to hit affordable stores for fun accessories and great staple items that I can wear to work & on the weekend. New York & Company has some great pink & red color block options at affordable prices. Their simple and structures cuts really make this trend fun but not loud and these style inspirations show how to use accessories to compliment your outfit & add to the color block movement.
Another great option that combines two fashion statements of the season: Yellow & Color Block… keeping the yellow toned down with white & black is the perfect way to add one bold color into this fashion trend & still look effortlessly chic!
There are so many ways to color block you can’t go wrong! Have fun!!
