Back from my Blogger Break

… Because I had a Baby Girl!!

That is correct ladies and gents, Glam Girl is now a mommy to a beautiful and healthy (thank you God!) baby girl … We shall call her Baby Glam :)

My pregnancy was relatively smooth with some scares along the way which is why I felt I needed a blogging break to relax and focus on staying healthy to ensure a healthy pregnancy … And now I am back to blogging … While my little fashionista naps :)

Basically I dress up Baby Glam in a new outfit everyday and headband and bows to match!! Baby Glam has a huge shoe collection and I only expect it to soon rival my own collection – gee I hope we will be the same shoe size one day!

With that said I did gain 35 pounds during my pregnancy – and I have about 12 left to lose…. I need motivation to get these pounds off but even more with full access to my kitchen and pantry on a daily 24/7 basis … It’s easy to cheat! LOL

This blog will continue to cover fashion, food and now baby items !!

Inspiration of Style:

Peplum

I am totally into peplum right now! Its all over the pages of magazines and in dozens of stores. Peplum is a ruffle attached to the waistline of a skirt, dress, or even a jacket.  This style is so feminine but also bold.

When I think peplum the first name that comes to mind is Victoria Beckham. She embodies ladylikeness yet she has such a bold fashion sense.

This is how you wear peplum and my favorite picks of this fashion-do !

Fashion Flashback? OVERALLS

FASHION FLASHBACK?

OVERALLS

I know when I was a kid my mom put me in denim overalls with turtlenecks and Keds… I hope those pictures are long-gone. As I flip thru the pages of various fashion magazines why do I see celebrities wearing this fashion don’t?! Maybe it is just me who doesn’t like the unflattering cut of the overall which makes your tush look huge & well in general you just look like a country-bumpkin. Is it just me or should this fashion flashback not come back in style?!? I know I won’t wear it!

Must Buy: Envelope Clutch

Must Buy Item

Aldo Envelope Clutch

As Spring is just around the corner and your formal party invites begin to arrive in the mail I suggest you do yourself a favor and buy the Beige Envelope Clutch by Aldo for $40. This clutch is a transitional piece from day to night events as well as a basic neutral color to really coordinate with multiple colors and patterns. Also I really love how the envelope style clutch can actually fit more than your lipgloss and ID. The gold-tone detail really gives it some edge! Bust out your bridesmaid dress or floral printed summer BBQ dress and some flip flops and you are ready to party!

Twenty Dollar Trendy March 2012

I love when Spring it just around the corner and color comes back into the mall and on us again! I know every girl can’t get enough of black, white & gray but after a dreary winter we need to cheer up & spruce up our wardrobe! I am loving the bold colors for this spring & summer but sometimes it is just too harsh without a pattern. This H&M dress for under $20 bucks is a great find & can easily transition you in style thru the spring and early summer with the 3/4 sleeves. Orange can be a hard color for many to wear, especially work appropriate without looking like Halloween…. this paisley pattern is the perfect way to bring you into spring!

CLICK HERE: Orange Paisley dress, H&M $19.95

Maybe you are looking for a cute shoe to lighten up your outfit …. for less than twenty dollars you can have comfy cute pastel coral flats with the very fashionable ankle strap perfect for the office or weekend from Forever 21.

Sometimes you just need a new clutch …wallet by day & purse by night. I love this orange croco pattern from Target.

CLICK HERE: Merona Orange Croco Clutch, Target $14.99

I know a great piece of jewelry can complete an outfit but spending too much on costume jewels doesn’t seem to always be the best way to stretch your dollar … I found a great pair of earrings from Bloomingdales for $20 … I love these so much I don’t know which color is better!?! Coral or Blue!!!! For $20 buy them both!!

Inspirations of Style : Stocking Obsession

 Inspirations of Style:

Stocking Obsessions

While we only have a few months left of the winter chill I thought I would showcase a few of my favorite stocking patterns that are now so fashionable. I find wearing patterned stocking with sweater dresses and boots to be the easiest combo without looking like you worked for hours on an outfit. Although the animal print tight is very hip I can see this trend a little harder to get away with at the office, or at least maybe my office, but it’s a great change-up to your weekend sweater dress and flats outfits! I know you might be thinking flats & footed stocking? Really? But my co-worker was wearing simple black tights, a dark sweater dress and gray flats… it really worked! In a way it is a different take on the color block craze that is very in-style for Spring/Summer 2012. Kick your style up a notch and wear your sexy stilettos with a crazy patterned stocking and party dress…. Don’t tell me you won’t go by unnoticed.

CLICK HERE: Leopard Print Sheer Tights, ASOS $17.91

I personally love the open weave look…imagine dark brown open weave tights, knee high brown leather boots by Lucky Brand and a gorgeous amethyst purple sweater dress. Throw a belt onto that outfit and be ready for your 9AM meeting at work, shopping on the weekends of dinner at a chic Asian Fusion restaurant in the city with friends. I’ll Cheers to that!

CLICK HERE:    Traditional Open Weave Tights, Payless $7.99

Another way to wear the tights-craze, thanks to Princess Kate, is to wear a simple silhouette with stocking & stilettos! You can look very polished & posh by wearing nude sheers or opaque black stocking and classic closed toe heels.

Sometimes the best way to add a pattern to your tights to look edgy but still feminine is to do a bold lace pattern or a simple polka-dot.  Black, gray and nude have all been done…why not try a bold burgundy or refreshing navy? Just make sure you wear complementary colors and stick to solids or refined patterns …you’re stockings are making the statement …and so will you!

CLICK HERE: Floral Lace Tights, Forever 21 $10.80

CLICK HERE:  Jukebox Tights in the Pony, $34.99

I will let you in on a great secret… Spanx now makes various patterned tights so you stay skinny & seemless while still stylish…. An investment in 1 or 2 of these pairs can keep you going…without those rolls!

CLICK HERE: Patterned Tight-End Tights® Argyle Diamond, Spanx $28.00

CLICK HERE: ASSETS® Reversible Shaping Solid Tights, Spanx $18.00

Reversible Tights… GENIUS!

I couldn’t leave this one out…. Maternity Shareware Tights!

CLICK HERE: ASSETS® Marvelous Mama Opaque Stripe, Spanx $20

There are so many patterned tights, from polka dots & lace to fishnets & solids sold at almost every store that it will satisfy everyone’s taste. If you are like me and are afraid you’ll put a run in those pantyhose then I suggest 2 things:

  • get your patterned stockings at a low price from stores like Forever 21 & Payless
  •  carry clear nailpolish to prevent any runs from tearing any further!

Happy Stocking Shopping!
