Inspiration of Style:

I am totally into peplum right now! Its all over the pages of magazines and in dozens of stores. Peplum is a ruffle attached to the waistline of a skirt, dress, or even a jacket.  This style is so feminine but also bold.

When I think peplum the first name that comes to mind is Victoria Beckham. She embodies ladylikeness yet she has such a bold fashion sense.

This is how you wear peplum and my favorite picks of this fashion-do !

Inspirations of Style : Color Block

Inspirations of Style

 Color Block

The newest trend for this spring is color blocking with bold color combinations such as red & hot pink or yellow & bright green. While this new fashion statement may be too bold for some or not appropriate for a conservative workplace, adding color-block accessories is a great alternative. Color blocking can be casual or elegant which is usually determined by the color scheme and styles.

Weekend entire is a great place to introduce a key piece or two using the bold color combinations of pink, orange and blue thru an accessory like shoes, bags, or jewelry.

Another great way to stretch your money and versatility of your wardrobe is to color block different articles of clothing like a fuchsia skinny jeans with an orange blouse tucked in and nude wedges. You might not need to buy anything at all …just search the back of your closet!

If you want wearable work pieces I would stick to muted color blocking on a great tote or tailored dress keeping the rest as simple as possible.

If you want a great color block article to keep in your closet for seasons to come stick to a great heel that you can wear to work or to dinner …my favorite is the Vince Camuto two-toned open-toe heels…. That color combination is classic!

I really love to hit affordable stores for fun accessories and great staple items that I can wear to work & on the weekend. New York & Company has some great pink & red color block options at affordable prices. Their simple and structures cuts really make this trend fun but not loud and these style inspirations show how to use accessories to compliment your outfit & add to the color block movement.

CLICK HERE: Tulip-Sleeve Top & Pink Pencil Skirt , New York & Company each $34.95

CLICK HERE:   Solid V-Neck Cardigan & The 7th Avenue Sateen Slim Crop & Patent Leather Skinny Belt, New York & Co.

Another great option that combines two fashion statements of the season: Yellow & Color Block… keeping the yellow toned down with white & black is the perfect way to add one bold color into this fashion trend & still look effortlessly chic!

There are so many ways to color block you can’t go wrong! Have fun!!

Twenty Dollar Trendy March 2012

I love when Spring it just around the corner and color comes back into the mall and on us again! I know every girl can’t get enough of black, white & gray but after a dreary winter we need to cheer up & spruce up our wardrobe! I am loving the bold colors for this spring & summer but sometimes it is just too harsh without a pattern. This H&M dress for under $20 bucks is a great find & can easily transition you in style thru the spring and early summer with the 3/4 sleeves. Orange can be a hard color for many to wear, especially work appropriate without looking like Halloween…. this paisley pattern is the perfect way to bring you into spring!

CLICK HERE: Orange Paisley dress, H&M $19.95

Maybe you are looking for a cute shoe to lighten up your outfit …. for less than twenty dollars you can have comfy cute pastel coral flats with the very fashionable ankle strap perfect for the office or weekend from Forever 21.

CLICK HERE: Linen Ankle Strap Flats, Forever 21 $19.80

Sometimes you just need a new clutch …wallet by day & purse by night. I love this orange croco pattern from Target.

CLICK HERE: Merona Orange Croco Clutch, Target $14.99

I know a great piece of jewelry can complete an outfit but spending too much on costume jewels doesn’t seem to always be the best way to stretch your dollar … I found a great pair of earrings from Bloomingdales for $20 … I love these so much I don’t know which color is better!?! Coral or Blue!!!! For $20 buy them both!!

CLICK HERE: Aqua Blue Crystal Button Studs, Bloomingdales $20

Twenty Dollar Trendy Feb 2012

I have been looking lately for a structured bag in a neutral tone that looks polished enough for life in the corporate world but still says I have style, love my designers and own the latest trend.  But I love my bags like I love my shoes which means I have too many to wear and it makes justifing $1,000 on one purse hard at times.  I love how Payless Shoes features some great designer collections like Lela Rose & the fierce Christian Siriano. His clothes are amazing and his ever changing collection at Payless keeps me coming back for more! This crossbody bag in Navy/Tan is a STEAL at just under $20 so when the fashion changes or I beat this bag up & it is on to the next at least I know I looked good while it lasted for just Twenty-Dollar Trendy!

CLICK HERE: Women’s Liam Crossbody (Navy/Tan), Christian Siriano for Payless $19.99

I love my IPhone 4S! I’ve had an IPhone since the original & I could never switch to any other phone. The IPhones are big & boring looking even though their technology is amazing! I love the beautiful Sworavski crystal encrusted IPhone covers that cost $300 each but I’m too rough and know I’ll damage that in a matter of weeks! Now there is a cheap solution to that boring case problem!  For well under $20 you can get a blinged out IPhone case from Charolette Russe in clear & pink crystals with a big heart!!!

CLICK HERE: Bling Heart IPhone Case, Charlotte Ruse $9.50

   I <3 this

I love a good statement necklace but I do have my classic Tiffany necklace that tends to be a staple item worn on an almost daily basis which is why I hate to spend too much on costume jewlery. I also noticed gold-tone all over the Fall 2012 Fashion Week runway so thought a great way to add in this bold trend & still stand out was on a great neckalce! For under $20 you too can get this fashion statement and update your wardrobe!

Happy Shopping!
