Fourth of July Drinks

I love the Fourth of July… BBQs, fireworks, a day off from work, and FREEDOM!

While I really do love those Brits, I’m 100% proud to be an American and GossipandGlam.com wants thank those service men & women, current & past for giving and keeping our freedom!

Here are 2 drinks to cheers our soilders with!

As I watch my favorite morning TV shows they gave me a GREAT idea for the non-alcoholic cocktail:

The Red, White & Blue Drink:

1. Fill a clear tall glass with ice

2.Pour in cranberry juice 1/3 of the way up the glass

3.Pour in a dark blue sports drink another 1/3 of the way up the glass

4.Pour in Sprite the last 1/3 of the glass

6. Garnish with a star cut-out made from a watermelon slice!

7. Toss in a straw and ENJOY!

 Fresh Watermelon & Mint Cocktail:

I begin my cocktail by following Food Network’s Bobby Flay’s Watermelon Martini recipe found here, then I add a bunch of fresh mint muddled into the glass and also garnish with a few mint leaves. The fresh mint & watermelon combo is fabulous, refreshing and the perfect cocktail to toast America.

Michelle Obama

Our First Lady Mrs. Michelle Obama is certainly a walking fashion statement at every occasion.

From the campaign trail to White House state dinners, Michelle O appeals to every woman in this nation. J. Crew cardigans paired with designer labels attracts the attention of fashion critics and inspires us all.

She made little known designers, Jason Wu and Isabel Toledo, household names after President Obama’s inauguration in 2009. Both designers now have affordable lines with famous stores, Target & Payless Shoes.

And of course she selected the always fashionable & truly classic American designer Michael Kors to dress her for her official picture.

Mrs. O gives us all some inspiration!

Duchess of Cambridge:Favorites Part 1

Our favorite Duchess has been busy these last few weeks while her hubby, Prince William, was away in the Falkland Islands on duty.

Kate’s best outfits while on her own solo & joint-appearances are very stylish and range from high street brands to upscale 1940′s reminiscent outfits and finally she wears pants on a royal appearance!

Honestly America – we really need to start wearing hats… I’m LOVING Kate’s picks … so sharp, smart & stylish !

Kate’s choice of shoe design as the winner was a surprise… and now Glam Girl can’t wait to see the outfit she pairs with these blue booties!

Not my favorite outfit worn by the Duchess but worth a note …her mother wore this dress in 2010:

Copy Kate’s Reiss Shola Dress for Less !!!

Now it is America’s turn thru Banana Republic to wear a more affordable version of the Reiss “Shola” dress Kate wore after returning home from her honeymoon to meet with President Obama and the First Lady.  I have to admit I think Reiss’s version looks more expensive and very tailored but it should for $340. Banana Republic made a more afforable version at $130 available in black & almond but it does not have the bandage detail like the original Reiss dress.

Of the two which would you rather wear?!?!
